I had the pleasure of attending four awesome book fairs in the last six months. Book fairs are a wonderful opportunity to connect with young readers and fellow authors. It gave me a sense of community and belonging because we all know that being an author can feel isolated at times (although we find the most joy in that isolation!)
This was a big one for me. I've attended the Miami book fair as a reader many times and being in the Writer's Row was a big fat check on one of my author goals. I handed out over 200 bookmarks, connected with local elementary school teachers and sold many books!
This annual book festival was held in Gainesville by the Writers Alliance of Florida and includes local authors who write in a variety of genres. Admission is free.
Amelia Island is a gorgeous place. Book fair or not, I recommend visiting it for its pristine (and uncrowded) beaches and creative vibes. No wonder some world-famous and bestselling authors call it their home.
Amongst others, the highlight of this book fair for me was meeting David Baldacchi in person and getting an autographed copy of his book!
Oxford Exchange is one of my favorite bookstores in the whole world! There's beauty and charm oozing out of every corner. I had the opportunity to participate in their annual children's book fair in June.
